Very new to scripts and plugins but I have a question on any shortcuts you can offer as I do file cleanup. I organized all character and paragraph styles in my master file into individual folders to keep them organized. (For instance Body Text is now within the Regular Styles folder of the paragraph styles panel)
Problem is I need to set up this folder structure into some old documents (that are hundreds of pages long and formatted).
When I load all my styles with the folder structure into an old documents, I am finding I need to manually delete each and every paragraph and character style that is now outside the folder and replace it with the style inside the folder.
These styles are named the same both inside and out the folders…. I just wish I could organize the folder structure all at once.
Is there a quicker way to clean up these documents so I do not have to manually delete and replace each paragraph and character style just to move it into a folder? (For instance Body Text is outside the folder, I need to delete it and replace it with the Body Text inside the “Regular Styles” folder.) I have multiple folders where styles are kept…but those styles are all outside the folders I need them in. I hope this makes sense.
