Can't Get Transparent Background for Animated Buttons

I’ve built an four-page interactive PDF in InD CS6. Each page contains a full-page photo with 3-5 circular buttons scattered across it. Behind each button is an animated circle created w/the Grow preset. The idea is to give them a pulse effect. This artwork is on its own layer.

Unfortunately, when I place the swf created from these animated elements and set the poster to “from current frame” I can’t get a transparent background. When I open it in Acrobat X Pro and change its background property to transparent, I still get a white box.

Is there a way to get this effect working properly?

      Thanks in advance!
