Converting paragraph styles to ebook friendly text

      Hi does anyone have any tips for working with complex InDesign book documents with Paragraph and Character styles designed for print, converting them to ebook friendly text. i.e. removing spaces and symbols that won’t work in html. Is this necessary before exporting to ePub and, if so, are there any scripts around to make this less laborious? Also, how do you get INDD files within an INDB to synch paragraph and character styles? Everything we’ve tried has failed so far. And doing it manually is quite time consuming.
