      Hello,

I have created the above effect (with coloured background behind the text) using the ‘Paragraph Rule’ feature and setting up paragraph styles.
It looks fine but the problem I have is that I have to manually add paragraph breaks wherever I want the line to end instead of automatically wrapping .

I have tried setting character styles using ‘Underline Options’ but it does not give you control over the left and right indents.

Does anyone know a way to get this block effect behind text without having to manually for line breaks?

I am using CS6 if that helps.

      Thanks,

No, I think you’ve got the best method… The next best alternative is to just leave the text alone and draw one or more white frames behind it. Then when the text changes, you’d have to adjust the length of each white or blue frame. Either way is annoying, but for a one-page ad it shouldn’t be too horrible.

The document is actually about 62 pages (and counting) which is why I dont want to manually draw boxes behind the text.
