Acrobat Reader and Dropbox Mobile Apps Team Up

Adobe and Dropbox announced a partnership back in October and now that pairing is benefiting those using the companies’ mobile apps. Users of the Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app will now be able to access any PDF stored in their Dropbox Basic, Pro, or Business accounts without leaving Reader. But the integration isn’t limited to viewing the documents.

Within the Reader app, users are now able to edit the PDF with annotations, highlighting, commenting, and adding electronic signatures. Once made, those edits are automatically saved right back to Dropbox, ensuring that the current version is instantly accessible across devices. Files in shared Dropbox folders will also be immediately available to all users with access to that folder.

The functionality of Adobe Acrobat Reader—including all those same edits—is now accessible from right within the newest version of Dropbox. This teaming up of these two popular apps removes the need to bring a document out of one app, only to edit it in another and replace it back in the original app.
