The inaugural Photoshop Conference for Designers kicked off Monday, November 16th in downtown Denver, Colorado. The conference—produced by Creative Publishing Network (CPN)—set itself apart from other Photoshop events by focusing on designers specifically. Whereas many events centered around Adobe’s photo manipulation software have a strong photography/photographer angle, the Denver event set its sights on the production artist and designer.
Over the two days, speakers such as Nigel French, Russell Viers, Lesa Snider, and David Blatner covered topics ranging from retouching images to typography to video. Co-located with the InDesign Conference, which is in its second year, the Photoshop Conference also offered attendees plenty of opportunities to socialize with their fellow designers and Photoshop users. The popular Bingo ice breaker game and Ignite presentations—a key ingredient at other CPN events—found their way into this new event, as well. Looking forward to 2016, the Photoshop Conference will be held in Minneapolis in July, separate from the InDesign Conference, which will be held in Washington, D.C. in November.
