Amazon Spills the CS4 Beans Prematurely
I’m imagining someone at Amazon.com is, at this very moment, on the phone with someone at Adobe discussing Amazon’s accidentally releasing the InDesign CS4 product page (including features and pricing) a week too early. In my imagination, the conversation goes like this:
Amazon: “ummmm… Ooops?”
Adobe: “Oops? Did you say ‘Oops’, Ed? No, Ed. ‘Oops’ is when you fall down an elevator shaft. ‘Oops’ is when you go skinny dipping in a school of pirhana… This was not an oops.”*
(*Happens to be David’s favorite quote from Harvey Fierstein’s extraordinary play “Torch Song Trilogy”)
No use going to Amazon to look for the information now — they’ve taken it down. But not before folks at AppleInsider.com captured it.
Look, we’re sure that y’all have lots of questions about CS4. But please understand that we simply cannot comment on anything on that page, and so we’re not even going to open this blog post up for comments. We will, however, have plenty to talk about beginning next Tuesday, September 23. We look forward to the discussions, and even moreso: We look forward to all the cool new features Adobe has in store for us. It’s going to be a fun (and productive) 2009!
Update: Jennie R. reminded us that this is the second year in a row that Amazon.com did this. Sigh.
