We generate menus from the datamerge function with PowerSwitch. A CSV is created from a form that a restaurant owner complete. From there the CSV is sent to a FTP server where actions are triggered to retrieve the right template, do a datamerge with the CSV, rename the new InDesign doc that is generated. Everything work perfectly, but I have one issue, some of the elements in the links panel are “XML structure element not in layout”. We used to have icons that we switched to a font with those icon now. The font was applied everywhere a icon was, but I have all those pictures links with the “XML…” message. How can I remove those unwanted links so that I don’t collect them and finish with a clean document?

I’m not sure what could be going on, but it sounds like a similar question to this one:

URGENT: Completely remove all XML/Data Merge Info
