Hi all. I am using this design in a flyer and just wonder if there is any way to do it with a paragraph style, like using a rule.

As it stands, I’m doing it manually, and since it occurs with 5 headings on the page, it’s a pain when there are text edits. And of course, aligning has to be done manually because the text is in one frame.

OK I was trying to edit this and it failed. Let’s try again.

I want to do this with headings on a flyer:

      —– HEADING —–

And I’m wondering if there is a way to do it with paragraph styles and rules.

Also, what is the secret to using the img tag in the forums. I uploaded to Imgur but the link doesn’t show here.

Hi George- You can do something like that with Paragraph Borders. You’ll just have to play with the settings to dial in the width of the line and its position.

I fixed the link from Imgur in your first post. It was wrapped in some extra HTML code so it didn’t show up.

Here’s an example of what Mike may have been talking about:

Put Lines to Left and Right of a Heading

Thanks, David! I remembered we had a post like that but for the life of me I couldn’t find that one. The thing I like about the Paragraph Borders solution is that you don’t have to add anything, spaces, anchored objects, etc., and it works on any background. But each of those other methods could be the best one, depending on the circumstances.

Thanks, guys, appreciate this, and the fixing of the URL.
