Thank you all for your suggestions. Problem solved. Yes, it was the width of the column that was the offending issue. The threading stopped at a heading of two rather long words that were separated by a no break command, which forced the column width to be greater than the column width of the template. A soon as I extended the column width, the remaining text in the document appeared.
