text orientation won’t change to right-to-left

      I’ve had this problem before, but not consistently. This time I’ve decided to see if I can’t get it resolved.

      I have a paragraph style of regular English text, and when I type a Hebrew word in it, it won’t orient itself right to left. Of course I’ve tried changing character direction manually (although it’s supposed to change when set to Default)

      The only solution is to create a new paragraph style, assign it the same settings manually, and apply. But when I compared the settings, I find nothing to explain the direction issue I was having.

      PS What happened to the private forum for memebers?

      If not, it’s possible that your membership expired or something like that…

      When you place your cursor in a paragraph like that, do you see a + symbol next to the paragraph style name (in the paragraph styles panel)? It sounds like maybe there is some local/manual formatting override on the style.

      I don’t have the ME version of InDesign, so I’m not sure how this should work, though.

      Hi David

      I am logged in, and my membership is good until April 2023, and I don’t see the private forum. The only ones on the list are announcements and the general forum.

      So now about my issue, no, there are no overrides.
      I created a new file with the old and new style sheets.
      There is definitely something in the paragraph settings, and I can’t find it! If you don’t have the Middle Eastern version, I guess you won’t be able to figure this out.
