When I add a page to a long document (200+ pgs) an additional set of master page footers appear.
      What am I doing wrong?
      Thanks.

Can you show us a screenshot of your pages (both parent/master and pages you add)?
      Thank you.

      Thanks for responding, Steve.
How do you attach a screenshot here?
My doc is facing pages and it seems like the extra footers aren’t appearing if I insert 2 pages, but does when I insert only one page. If you know of a way to insert one page without the extra footers let me know!!

The only way to get images here is to put it somewhere (like dropbox or google drive or an image service) and link to it.
Are you adding a single page in the middle of the document? That is an issue as old as InDesign itself… if the master page objects (like your footers or other frames) have been overridden, they’ll double up when the page turns from a left-hand page to a right-hand page.

Master items reappear after inserting new page

That’s it! Yes, the pages have been overwritten. Talk about InDesign secrets!
