George, believe me… after 17 years of publishing InDesign Magazine, it’s hard for me, too. But please know that we’re not abandoning InDesign. It is still my favorite app, and we know it’s critically important to help InDesign users.
Just as we merged “The InDesign Conference” into CreativePro Week and didn’t stop presenting days worth of InDesign sessions, we will continue to focus on the needs of InDesign users in CreativePro Magazine — including book design and long document publishing!
It would, of course, help if Adobe would release some new InDesign features that we all want. Unfortunately, the past couple years have been pretty dry in the “new features” department, as you probably know. However, it’s true that we can always learn to use the current tool better, and so we will keep exploring the range of InDesign features we have to work with. And, at the same time, we’ll explore other tools that can help us get our work done more efficiently and better.
We will not be a magazine about “nothing” — we are creating a resource of content for real users, like you and me.
I hope you’ll stick with us for a while and keep giving us feedback on what we can do better.
