Border is not extending when table comes

      While using InDesign Border Features to format box items, there is an option to Merge consecutive Border and Shading with same setting in paragraph style. This is working for text and Images. But when inline table comes in between, border is not extending for tables.

      Can anyone confirm if this can be done in any version of InDesign?

      I have checked both InDesign CC 2019 and 2020, both are not supporting this feature.

      Wow, I never noticed this before. That’s terrible! Must be some kind of bug.

      I just checked CC 2021 and the problem is still there. Annoying!
      However, other inline objects do not cause problems. So here is one workaround: Put the table into a new text frame… and then anchor that frame on its own line inside the story:

      This workaround may be useful for small tables, but when it comes automation in xml first workflow, this is not enough especially when table continued from one page to another page.
