      I have an InDesign document which includes links to 30 other InDesign documents. When I open the host file, in a different instance of InDesign, it updates the standard links OK, but demands that I open each of the linked InDesign files separately to update their own links.

      Yes, linking from one document to another is always fraught with issues. I’ll do it, but not happily.
