The Pop-Up Pinhole Project
They say necessity is the mother of invention, but it’s clear nowadays that Kickstarter is at least a favorite uncle. Case in point: When London-based designer Kelly Angood couldn’t afford a medium-format camera, she set out to make her own, and in the process discovered how many other folks shared her interest in pinhole photography and DIY camera kits.
And now, to make it easy for anyone to build their own stylish pinhole camera, Kelly has launched the Pop-Up Pinhole Project on Kickstarter.

The camera is called the Videre, and backers will receive kits printed and die-cut onto thick recycled cardboard, accompanied by instructions and a spare medium-format spool.

The estimated delivery date of the cameras is November, so they should arrive in time to make the perfect Christmas gift for any true photography geeks on your list.
Check out the video below and Kelly’s tumblr blog diary for all the details.
