When you want to create a piece of artwork what do you reach reach for? Pencil and paper? Paint and brush? Photoshop and Wacom tablet? How about just HTML and CSS? In a project called Digital Bits, students at RISD created drawings of everyday objects with nothing more than HTML and CSS, and the results are pretty nifty.
A quick peek at the source code reveals how these objects are made out of div elements and CSS rules:
You can find many other examples of CSS drawing that take these ideas even further to create stuff like the CSS Washing Machine, CSS Homer, and even a pure CSS Twitter Fail Whale.
