This may have been covered elsewhere, but here goes …

One default style is titled “BVP text” … I apply it to standard text in a novel or short story. “BVP Text” is the default text frame style … yet when I place more text, each subsequent text box is “None+” format. If I clear the override, then plain old “None” becomes the format. What am I missing to make all my text frames “BVP text” without having to select 200 individual text frames?

I suppose, that you have applied the Object Style to the master page text box, wright? If you do that, every automatic inserted text box will be with that object style.

If you want all manual made text boxes to be that style, simply, with nothing selected, click, text tool, and then mark the object style wanted, and then draw a textbox. Now it will be with the selected object style at standard.
