Font Fetish: Ayres Royal
There are many, many situations in which you wouldn’t want to use Ayres Royal. But so what? I would buy this typeface just so I could set it really, really big and revel in the loops and curlicues of each exuberant capital and number.
Ayres Royal was designed by Gert Wiescher, who has been a graphic designer in Germany, France, South Africa, and Spain. It’s available as a PostScript font (Mac and Windows) and TrueType (Windows only) and is $49.50 from FontShop and MyFonts.com.
