Professional Artist Program Launched by National Fine Arts Title Registry

A program catering to the needs of professional artists was unveiled today on the National Fine Arts Title Registry (NFATR) Web site, www.FineArtsTitle.com. The Professional Artist Program allows artists to register and create online records for an unlimited number of artworks and then transfer the ownership title as each work is sold to create provenance. The new service costs $15.00 a month; the original, permanent registration fee is $10.00 per artwork.
“Artists creating original works to sell are the top users of National Fine Arts Title Registry,” said Mark Schwartz, president and CEO of the online service that documents details and ownership of fine art pieces. “Selling artists keep lots of completed works on hand and constantly produce new ones, so normal per-artwork registration fees could require hundreds of dollars all at once. And, transferring ownership title to a buyer as each work sells would require more. To address these unique needs, we created the Professional Artist Program.”
Other Professional Artist Program benefits include having online inventory records that can be used to document works for insurance purposes, the ability to include personal notes about a work for the eventual buyer, the use of the title certificate as an artist’s letter of authenticity, and email notification when a gallery sells a registered work and transfers the title.
Film director and artist John Cherry founded the company over a year ago when he personally saw a need for artists to be able to document and track the works they create. “Artists have been telling us that customers like getting title to the artwork they purchase and that their works sell faster with less negotiation,” said Cherry. “As we worked with the artists and galleries using our service, we refined the benefits they find most useful. We think this new program delivers what they want for a very economical price.”

      Hi Judy-
Sorry, we don’t have anything to do with that program. This was just a news story we published about it several years ago.
