adding pages without Auto Text reflow

      When I used Pages-Insert Pages I got a tangled mess. Is there a way to add pages within a story so that text is not disturbed?
      I think that if I have Edit-Preferences-Type and Text Reflow unchecked it should be OK.
      Is this the correct way to add pages within a very long story?

      Do you have a primary text frame on the master page?

      Yes I do have a Primary text frame on the master page. Now I want to add some pages throughout the text to be chapter heading pages, so usually a double page spread.
      If I convert the first such Chapter page to a master and apply it to a page that already has text and images what will happen? I have Auto reflow turned off.
