Cast Your Vote for New Features in InDesign
Most people who use software regularly wish they could add or change the interface or features. Even though they may seem like faceless companies, most software makers want to hear from their customers. Adobe’s no exception. You may have used Adobe’s official Feature Request/Bug Report Form, but now there’s a new way to make your desires heard–for InDesign, anyway.
The Adobe InDesign Wishlist is from InDesignSecrets.com, an independent entity helmed by Anne-Marie Concepcion and David Blatner. While they aren’t on Adobe’s payroll, they do have the ear of the InDesign team.
You can enter your own request, and you can vote for other people’s wishes. As of June 22, 2011, the request with the most votes was “Keep objects on their respective layers when they are grouped.”
Here are the current category groupings for the requests already made:
• Creative Suite
• Export
• Graphics
• Interactive
• Objects/Layout
• Policies/Business
• Print
• Text and type
• User interface
