My company has a product made of 5 books, and they came in Letter format. I usually need to make A4 versions, so I wrote a script to make my life easier, and in CC2019 it is not working well. In Indesign 2018 the script: turn on Layout Adjustments, change document size to A4, change margins to exact numbers I need, save, go to the next document and repeat.
Now with the Adjust Layout tool, I need a new script to work with it. Does anybody already did something? I didn’t find a way to control Adjust Layout? And also all scripts I have to “repeat this in all open documents” are not working, unless you close the document.
My manual task now is, in each document:
1. Adjust layout to A4, margins to 35, 20, 20, 1,27mm, bleed to 5mm
2. Select all Masters, layout>Margins and Columns, margins to 35, 20, 20, 1,27mm (turning on “Adjust Layout”).
3. Repeat in each document.
Sure, it’s not a big deal, but my life was easier before. Anyway, I need to say the “Adjust Layout” is much better than “Layout Adjustments”. I have much less working checking all the pages.
