Find differences in several paragraph styles

      Hi,

      My name is Olle Dahlquist, I live in Sweden and am new to this forum.
      My version of InDesign is CS 6 and my computer runs on 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

      I am working on a book that contains close to 80 chapters (indd-files).
      From the beginning I worked with a template that had paragraph styles. But, during the work I might have changed one or more styles.

      Now I am planning on using a script to combine all the indd-files into one huge file as I need to do some justifications to the “final” indd-file before exporting it.

      In total the book will hold approx 550 pages.

      My problem is that I am looking for a way to search through all paragraph styles to find differences so that I can have correct paragraph styles in the end.

      I am also looking for a script that can replace one paragraph style to another. I used to have it, but after a total crash of my computer it vanished and I can’t remember it’s name.

      Looking for a hint or reply. ;-)

      Have a nice day to you all!!

      What kind of differences might you be looking to compare, and is the point of the comparison to identify the ones that need to be changed in the second part of your question?

      For the second part here is a brute Force solution (I’m a bit rusty):

      var myPars = app.document.paragraphs.everyItem();

      for (var i = 0; i < myPars.length(); i++) {
      if (myPars[i].appliedParagraphStyle == “styleToChange” {
      myPars[i].applyParagraphStyle(“styleToApply”), true));
      //Repeat other if statements as necessary
