Odd, incorrect font variant selected by InDesign when importing Word doc

      In InDesign I frequently encounter a Word-file font issue, where an odd font-variant is automatically selected when the file is imported into InDesign. Has anyone run across a script that will consolidate all those odd versions of italic formatting in imported text, e.g. “italic subhead, light condensed italic, display italic, etc., to a single variant, “italic”? I need to identify all those oddly converted instances in long documents without having to search for each unique font variant. Any solution will be appreciated. Thanks!
