Cindy, I think your second option is going to be the better one: making a high-quality PDF. You should not need to make printer spreads… that’s the job of the printer you’re working with! They should be able to do it better than you can, anyway. It’s generally better to make a regular PDF and then use an Acrobat tool to do the imposition.
