uninstall/reinstall

      My Indesign CS4 is about 10 years old, but I do not need a newer one [at this time], it just quit, should I uninstall and then reinstall?

      Just quit? What crashed? Will it just reopen or is it not working anymore.

      PS you really do need a new version the latest versions are such an improvement,

      The operating system is OS X Yosimite 10.10.5
      I really can’t afford the new version at this time, I work in a print shop and we have all the latest stuff there, but for my own personal use, this version is perfect {and paid for}.
      Yes, Graham…it just quit. It did not crash, it quit. A while back, my layers quit working…that was frustrating, but I didn’t do anything about it, but then last week, I just get the dreaded “Indesign quit unexpectedly.” I spent hours on the adobe site trying to figure out what to do, and now I hate adobe.com. It took me in circles. I have a tech support phone number, but of course they were closed. I will try again this week.

      Rebuild your InDesign preferences.
      May also need to delete the temp file that was in use when the program crashed if this has been corrupted it can cause problems when InDesign launches,
