Page / frame character count?

      Hi,

      For a rather specific project, I would need to display the character count from each page in a separate frame. A bit like a pagination, but with the total sum of the character of the main frame on each page, (for example: 450 / 20’300, 900 / 20’300, etc.)

      Is it possible? Is there some kind of variable I could use for that?

      I am no sure I understand exactly what you mean by static/dynamic.

      The character count is related to each page (or more precisely the main frame on each page), so… I’ll say dynamic? ^__^

      Si ça peut aider à mieux comprendre mon problème: J’aimerais pouvoir afficher sur chaque page le nombre de signes figurant dans le bloc de texte principal (additionné d’une page à l’autre), et utiliser ça un peu comme une pagination.

      Je vais utiliser une typo monospace, donc le nombre de signes par page sera constant en fait.

      donc par exemple, si on dit que je me retrouve avec 1500 pages et 1580 signes par page:
      – page 1: 1’580 sur 2’370’000
      – page 2: 3’160 sur 2’370’000
      …
      – page 38: 60’040 sur 2’370’000
      etc.

      Donc le nombre de caractères sera toujours le même et le nombre total sera ce chiffre x le nombre de pages !

      Tout peut être défini dès le départ ! … Bref, je ne comprends pas la question !!

      Tu ne voudrais pas repasser en Anglais car je vais finir par passer pour un abruti ! …

      Ou alors tu m’éclaires sérieusement plus ! ;-)

      Yep. Totally that. Fixed page character count x page number | total book character count.

      Is there an easy way to automate the calculation in a text frame?

      I won’t hardcode it on 1’500 pages, even if I know the numbers ^__^

      Je suis en train de tester le script trouvé dans l’autre fil de discussion que je cite. Ça m’a l’air être une bonne base en tout cas.

      Oh, wow, bravo, oui si tu es d’accord je suis très volontiers preneur de ta solution, qui m’a l’air plus simple et plus adaptée à ce que je cherche à faire.
