    Hello:
    I’m trying to select text between two point in a text file, and could use some help.
    Had a similar problem a few months ago and Aaron Troia helped me out.
    But now I have another issue I could use help with.

    I have a list of items (sample below) that have a bold lead-in to a colon.
    I need to select the text after the colon (and everything in between) to the return.
    So I need to highlight the text after the colon (The City of Canton is..(plus everything else to the return. \r.
    Skip the next line until after the colon again, and repeat.

    I have to change the font after the colon to the return, and keep the format at the beginning of the next text line until the colon again.

    Plus, I need to go from the beginning of the story with is the same bold text.
    Hope this makes sense.

    I believe your issue can be remedied by using Nested Styles.
    First, define a Character style for the portion of the paragraph that will be unique from the rest of the paragraph (in your case “Text Here:) Then, create a Paragraph style that will be used for the text following “Text Here:”.
    Once these styles are defined, choose Drop Caps and Nested Styles in the Paragraph Style Options panel. Create a New Nested Style, choose the newly created Character Style, select “through”, “1”, “End Character Nested Style”.
    Return to your document and apply this paragraph style. After each “:”, insert a “End Nested Style Here” (Insert Special Character, Other, end Nested Style Here). NOTE: Until you insert the End Character Nested Style, the entire paragraph will reflect the character style.
    If you have multiple occurrences, I would assign a key command or do a search and replace of “Text Here:” inserting the End Character Nested Style in the replace area.

    Thanks for the recommendation, Janet…but multiple designers will need these Nested Styles, so I’m not sure if those can be transferred to different workstations.

    I’ve created several find/change commands, though, that I can string together using XStrings, and that seems to work great.
    So I was hoping to get a find/change command to select the text between the colon and the return.
    Then I can change the font to whatever I need.
