Caption plug-in?

      I just spent all day adding captions to the “Description” metadata on a bunch of photos. I remember watching a tutorial a while back on Lynda about ID putting in the captions using a text variable. I forgot that the downside was no text wrap… Oops. Not gonna work.

      I also remember in the tutorial discussion about a couple plug-ins that would help with this. I am ready.

      I have searched Google in vain, IDSecrets in vain, and Lynda seems to be offline right now so I can’t even go back and find that video.

      Can someone please help me fine a suitable plug in for this?

      Do the captions need to be live??? If not you can convert them to Static Captions

      When you generate a live caption that displays a long string of text, such as a Description, the caption does not break across lines because it is a variable. If a caption is compressed into a single line, consider converting a live caption to a static caption. To convert a live caption to a static caption, select the live caption and choose Object > Captions > Convert To Static Caption.

      I was hoping for a more elegant solution. Live would be better, but I can live with static. It just seems that it would almost be easier to manually create the frames and paste the text into it instead of using a variable and then converting every one. Especially since I am typesetting a book with a lot of photos.

      I just reread Anne Marie’s article on making captions easy and I guess I can make that work.

      I don’t do this enough to pony up for a pricy plug in, but would be willing to pay for something that made it easier.

      Sounds like you need to talk to Obi-Wan he could sort you a script for a price.
