Web Design Concepts for Non-Web Designers
One of the best presentations I saw at the HOW Design Conference last week was by Matthew Richmond, executive creative director and director at the Chopping Block design studio. Its title was “Web Design Concepts for Non-Web Designers,” and man, did it deliver!
Matthew is a big-time player in the Web and interactive design world, with a varied client list that has included Adobe, Miramax Films, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, and Phish. But he’s no stranger to traditional design, so he’s an ideal guide for people wanting to transition from print to pixels.
Now he’s made the slides from the presentation available online as a slideshow. While not as satisfying as attending the session in person, it’s still great information, and almost every slide links to more resources. Take the time to think about each slide and follow the links and you’ll have yourself a terrific introduction to Web design today.
