The 2013 Salary Guide is Now Available

3

The Creative Group has published the 2013 version of its annual Salary Guide. The guide is themed like a travel brochure and is called the Sights and Salaries of Paylandia.

It includes job descriptions, hiring trends, and starting salary ranges for positions in design, marketing, advertising, and several other fields in both the United States and Toronto. Even if you’re not looking for a new job, the guide can tell you how your current compensation compares to that of others in your field.
You can download a PDF copy of the 24-page guide or order a printed copy. Both versions of the guide are free.
The parent company of The Creative Group, Robert Half International, also offers a free mobile app for iOS and Android with tools for job seekers, including city-specific job search and salary calculators, tips on interviewing, resume writing, and more.

Well, I think that this guide can be very helpful, especially for those looking for employment. It can even help to decrease the unemployment rate. It’s good that job descriptions are available, so you can read about a job and compare salaries. It’s hard now to find a job with a decent salary, you can find but it’s not easy to get it, that’s why lots of people use 1 hour payday loans to stay afloat. Anyway, if you are looking for a job then this guide can be very useful and you can learn more about job market and see what is available.

This report makes me pretty mad. I live and work in Oklahoma City and have been a print graphic designer for over 5 years. According to the report, I should make anywhere between 54k and 74k per year. But I make 26k. And all the jobs I have looked at over the past two years have had salaries nowhere near those first two figures. So I just don’t understand where they get a low average salary of 54k. You’d have to work at probably one of a handful of creative agencies and have to have been there a while to make that kind of money. And all the other salary figures seemed way off, too. A blogger makes 40k? How does somebody who doesn’t really need a degree make 14k more a year than me, a trained graphic artist?

I appreciate you posting this, and I’m sure I should be complaining to The Creative Group, but this is just so disheartening, and makes it seem like designers are as valued as many executives.
