  • Thank you David for your interest.

I tried all icons in Find/Change dialog box, but InDesign CS5 cannot find nor replace a text in locked text frame.

This current status of InDesign CS5 causes a big problem:

Someone who typed and designed books by InDesign CS3 and CS4, cannot use InDesign CS5 to find or change a text because he/she must unlock all text frames in all the hundreds pages. This is very hard, and the best solution in this case is staying with CS3 or CS4.

Therefore, It is very necessary FROM ADOBE to release an update urgently to add an option to enable users locking text frame position OR text frame position and content.

Thank you Jongware for your explanation and it is really logical speech.

But, someone needs locking a text frame to prevent a mistake movement ONLY.

I think that it is necessary to add an option to lock a text frame completely or to lock its movement only.

Thank you vasha for your interest.

I tried all icons in Find/Replace dialog box without benefit.

Please follow these steps to reproduce this problem:

    1- Open InDesign CS5.

    2- Make a text frame.

    3- Type a text.

    4- Lock the text frame.

5- Find or Find and replace a text which typed in step 3 above.

    Result:

    Cannot find match.

    Expected results:

Find and replace the text, like InDesign CS3 and CS4.

Is this problem occur with you too?
