    Just a thought, but couldn’t you do a TOC with text threads so it jumps to another page? Then add a keep option/start Paragraph-In next frame to the TOC Section parastyle?

    No, the color is not the same on all. That is the problem. The majority of them are gray, so that is the color in the paragraph style. On some pages they could be white or red character style. Red to emphasis it and other locations it may be on a dark background and it needs to be white. I didn’t want to make multiple Paragraph styles that I will have to link to the TOC, so that is why I added a character style. In addition, like I said I have to show others how to use the styles and it is difficult to train them how to use multiple styles. Just not sure why the character style carries over to the TOC.

    There may not be another solution, other than hitting none for character styles after updating.

    I have never created a book file in Indesign. Can you point me to information, videos or whatever to learn about it?

    Is there a way to Break Link to Styles (Paragraph and character) on multiple pages at one time? Or do I have to go to each page, and break link to style for Paragraph and then Character style?

    Thanks. But that will not work for my needs. I have to place multiple pages all the time and I work in a team so others may need to jump in to a file and update. They aren’t always the same document but different.

    Yes. I tried it a couple of times to make sure I did. It is doing weird things. The other day it wouldn’t drop the pdfs into existing frames. But I got it to work if I drew the frames as I went.

    I was testing it now and it wouldn’t place any pages but the first page. (existing frame or not).

    Then I held down my Option key when I went to place. It looked like it was going to place all the pages. It had a dialog box that was going Read, write, through the pages, but then nothing showed up in the document.

    One of my teammates was also having issues and asked me about it. That is when I thought that it might be a bug.

    I sometimes need to extract images from long documents that we can’t find the original Indesign files and rebuild a new InDesign document. I know it is backward but…
    Thanks, I changed the gear setting for the images.
