I think I got it to do that, but I had over 1,000 names and couldn’t change them all manually. Indexmatic does it automatically once I set it up. Every time the client makes and edit I would have had to do it all over again, resulting in endless hours of changing names.
Hi John – No, I didn’t get it to work in InDesign. I’ve been using Indexmatic for several years. It allows me to be very custom with my queries. It’s tricky to figure out initially but once you get it working, it’s so much easier than trying to put in a ton of hidden marks and then still not get what you want. Good luck.
