ParticipantYes, I have seen that.
Thanks for the answer and help.

ParticipantNo, I ended up making 1 file per chapter and combining them and then pasting it into the front matter file. It is done and at the printer now. But I would still like to know how to make a TOC from multiple files.

ParticipantThank you. That is easier than what I have been doing. I have a manual that I wrote that is 228 pages. I am having it translated into Spanish and the translator is sending me chapters that he converted from PDF files. So when I get the chapter file it is in a Word file but not formatted like the original. I copy and paste the text and retype Tables and redo artwork. When I paste in InDesign I just copy a page and highlight the English page and paste. That way the graphics don’t have to be moved much. But the language is English and I need to make it Spanish. The Tables are the biggest problem because you cannot highlight a whole table and click on Spanish. You have to highlight each text in each cell and click on Spanish. Sorry to be so long but I wanted to make sure you understand what I am doing. I was hoping that there was some way to change the whole chapter file to Spanish.

ParticipantThank you for the replies. I have been out. I have found the bleed menu in document setup and added the bleed on top, outside and bottom. Got the red line you mentioned. So I think I have that done. Next up, my printer says that the file I call front matter which has the title page, copyright, and table of contents they say the headers are different indent from the chapters and the file does not “combine?” with the chapters in the book. I am not sure what that means. They say the 10 chapter files go into the book but the front matter does not. I am trying to figure out what I need to do on that. And that’s it. The it goes to print.
Thanks again. Bob

ParticipantThere are no extra spaces or special characters. I have decided to manually hit backspace before each number which makes each entry correct. It will probably take all of 15 minutes to fix.
I will try and solve this problem when I am not working to get a book to the press for a client.
Thanks everyone.

ParticipantWhen the spell checker finds a word and highlights it for me to check, I always say add but then ID keeps on finding the same words again like it didn’t add it to the dictionary. I also use pH a lot and I have added pH 100 times to the dictionary and it still says it is misspelled.
