    Currently I’m using InDesign CC 2019 version 14.0.1 according to Creative Cloud.

    Yes it is up to date … I double checked that this morning too. I have about 30 other files it is also doing this to. I don’t feel that any of them are corrupt. One day they open, and the next they don’t.

    The problem originally started in December 2018. I bought the new computer thinking there must be a virus or something I couldn’t find. There is only Indesign CC 2019 on this computer. Did not help, and now I’m finding more with the same issue. This is 100% an InDesign problem. Too many updates, too many version changes. They have absolutely screwed up something!

    Having the exact same issue. I am using Adobe InDesign CC 2019. Had the file open yesterday. It’s only 5.1 MB. Tried to open it today and get the same error, “CANNOT OPEN THE FILE “XXXXXX.INDD” Adobe Indesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file maybe open in another application”.

    I have a brand new 2019 iMac with OS 10.14.3 Mojave, 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7, and 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4. I have restarted machine, tried opening a copy, tried opening it on my old machine, etc. FAIL! And it is giving me an error on all of the files in that whole folder now too.

    I am super frustrated!
