Petar PetrenkoParticipantHave you tried to set “Start Section” in InDesign files as standard ID documents, not through “Book” option?
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI don’t understand. What is the effect of cleaning up the style names? What happens with text (is it intact or without applied styles)?
Sorry if I disturb you, but I would like to learn something new. :)
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou can do it without a script — easy and fast:
1. Select char. styles you want to delete;
2. Click to the recycle bin;
3. Check both check boxes;
4. Click OK.1. Select para. styles you want to delete;
2. Click to the recycle bin;
3. Select “[No Paragraph Style]” from “and Replace With:”
4. Check both check boxes;
5. Click OK.July 8, 2022 at 11:22 am in reply to: Language Setting Switches Between 3 Different Settings #14367707
Petar PetrenkoParticipantFor past documents and this document you will have to change all of them manually.
For future documents, open InDesign without open document. Every change (in Preferences, Styles, Colors…) will reflect to all other new documents.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou need character style with font style “Regular” and select it under “Bullets and Numbering > Character Style”.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI always convert Word files into RTF and never lost any character formating.
Try opening Word file with LibreOffice and then convert it into RTF.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI would do it as a standard facing pages book without inner bleed. I’ve never ever used inner bleed for 30+ years whether it was PageMaker, QuarkXPress, InDesign or now Affinity Publiser and never had any problems with it.
I don’t know what is so special in spiral bounding? I’ve done this kind of books, too without any special treatement.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantIsn’t it listed in “Type > Find/Replace Font…”?
Petar PetrenkoParticipantWatch this video:
Petar PetrenkoParticipant1. To keep local formating you must replace it with character styles.
2. Hyphenation, justification and kerning setings are for all fonts, not to a specific one.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantAre you trying to create booklet from InDesign or Acrobat?
Petar PetrenkoParticipantIf the pages are in one PDF, then exract them into separate pages and make an effort to place them where you want.
Next time, do the same with the new document. Move the previous pages in some folder, and put the new ones on their place having in mind to be named as the previous ones. When you open InDesign it will replace the images automatically.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou selected it when nothing else was selected on the page (no text, no text frame…). To reset it, deselect again everything and click on the “None” char style.

Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou can try with smaller text size, leading, sans serif condesed font…
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYes, you can. Just select from the stroke type (thick-thin) bellow the stroke size in Control bar.
