Petar PetrenkoParticipantTXT removes formating, RTF does not.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantSave the file as RTF.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou can also try this:
When you choose the text file for placing, select “Show Import Options” and then under “Preserve Styles and Formating from Text and Tables” uncheck “Import Inline Graphics”.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou can resize the text frame in ID for the image to pop-up.

Petar PetrenkoParticipantYou can do it with “Organize pages” within Adobe Acrobat.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantUncheck “Restart Numbering Every:”

Petar PetrenkoParticipantIMO, they are so many because they are auto generated.
Make a copy of the document and start playing with tags — delete, merge, create new ones… This way you can learn much more and it will help you remember it better than waiting for somebody’s response. At least, this is my way of learning new stuff.November 8, 2022 at 7:03 am in reply to: Fragmented text / lots of ‘CharacterStyleRange’ tags #14374603
Petar PetrenkoParticipantIf it looks normal in Word, placing it in ID with “File > Place” should not show the XML tags. I can’t see in “Place” window an option to import XML tags. I just wonder how you did it.

Petar PetrenkoParticipantWhat is the extension of the XML file?
Do you see these tags in Word or not?
How did you succeed to import the text formated like this in ID?November 8, 2022 at 12:06 am in reply to: two indd docs, same text, different type size for each doc, shared editing #14374597
Petar PetrenkoParticipantMaybe it was a better solution if you did it before you placed it into ID? That way you would do it only once.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI think it should work:
Find what: old apostrophe
Change to: the new oneFind Format: the char. style
Change Format: choose the same oneAugust 25, 2022 at 11:26 pm in reply to: importing OCR into ID want to remove ¶ after every line and replace with space #14371028
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI’m glad I helped you.

Petar PetrenkoParticipantJust press a spacebar key.
August 19, 2022 at 1:21 am in reply to: GREP for Non-Breaking Space before Last Word in Paragraph? #14370788
Petar PetrenkoParticipantI use:
Apply Style: No break
To text: .{10}$it works fine to me.
Petar PetrenkoParticipantWhat do you mean with: “Why would I want to trim once then trim again?”.
The printer trims the book only once and if the picture you want to be positioned at the margins ends is not outside of page for 3-5mm, than a white space may occure because the trimming is not a very accurate process.
