    I figuered out the problem! It was a miscommunication between InDesign & my printer software. We run a Fiery program and a month or so ago I created print presets to make my life easier. (Yeah, right.) Every time I used a print preset (for example to print a 2-sided spread on 11×17) I would successfully print, then click save before closing my document, but it wouldn't let me save.

    I deleted all of my print presets and so far I haven't had the problem again.
