    In the meantime I saved the file as IDML and reopened it. I thought that took care of the problem because in one language layer (French) all the places with problems seemed okay. However, this was not the case in the other language layer (Italian). Moreover, the improvement was not stable, for after closing and reopening the file I was back were I had started. (I also tried to resave the file as IDML but caused additional problems.)

    Please let me know how I can send the file (and whatever is needed) to Adobe for further investigation.

    Hi David, thanks for your response. No, I haven't tried exporting the file yet but will do tomorrow, and yes, I'm certainly willing to share the file with the Adobe people.
