    Hi! thanks for trying to help, but that's not what we meant… Rob's a smart method but it's not practical when working on full-length books as we do. My colleague insists that she had this horizontal preview on the 5.5, but I'm also starting to think maybe she doesn't remember right. Anyway, thanks.

    The split and span column command applies always to the entire width of the text box, that's my problem…

    idealy I would find a way to combine indent and columns – like, define a x mm left indent, then split the rest into columns.

    in the sub-column command you can determine an outer margine, but it's equal on both sides – what I'm after is actually a way to set an a-symestric margin.

    Anyone got an idea?
