    thanks David, I did find it under the Help menu (for some reason I thought it was under the Extensions drop down under window and thought maybe it was missing something) and will check out the website for installing. Good to know that plug-ins do not work across versions and we will have to order an update for that plug-in.

    Thanks for the scipt info. Manually putting them in isn't an issue but we are trying to avoid too much non information in the chart if possible, that is why we thought that a 10% colour every other column might aid.

    I replaced all of the AN fonts on the computers (both in the windows folder and InDesign, common files folders)with Arial Narrow 2.30 from another computer. Then removed the cached font files as others had suggested (covering all the bases), rebooted and there Arial Narrow was in all its forms of bold, italic, etc. It also shows as a seperate font and not under Arial. We now have the version 2.30 stored in case we need it for future use.
