Hi…
I am here again, it seems I solve the problem, but it is not completely true.
I get the logo non distorted in kindle, but the logo is text in black with the white background. I exported from inDesign in PNG 300 dpi and in iBooks in day view is OK, in night view the logo disappears because is a black text on black screen (I can accept this, not a lot of people will read the logo in night mode)
The problem is always in Kindle, while I convert the EPUB in MOBI I get the logo OK in day view (White screen) but in night mode (black or sepia screen) I can see the withe box around the logo, the exact dimension of the text box I do have in inDesign. It seems Kindle does not support transparency? is it true?
i try to reduce the text box in order having the minimum box for the text double clicking on the handle of the box in inDesign, but at the time I do this and re-export I get in Kindle the image distorted again.
Really I don’t know how to do.
Help
Hi all…
Resolved, the problem are the font used in the logo, the customer was using: Helvetica Neue LT Std 95 Black and 45 Light, that is an Adobe OTF, but for some reasons the problem is swooned only in Kindle not in Mac OS or IOS by iBooks.
I change font with Helvetica LT Std Black e Light from Adobe OTF and now I can rasterize the logo in inDesign and get perfect in Kindle.
Only one strange think the dimension of the same rasterized text in Kindle Previewer appear smallest than in Kindle app, don’t know why, but this is a minor matter.
