ParticipantGrep code in paragraph styles (Grep styles) can only apply character styles to assigned patterns. For substitutions you always have to activate the Find/Replace

ParticipantI agree with Dhafir Photo but I would also try to use the alternative layout.
When you create it you can activate the functions that duplicate the text styles in a new group and maintain the link between the texts.
In the first layout you assign a font style to the words you are interested in; in the second layout you change the same font style by adding, for example, underlining and a transparent colour.
When you make changes, the second layout will need to be updated and when you export the pdf, you can make 2 layouts by selecting the parts that interest you.Massimo Carrassi
ParticipantTry downloading it again. I use it with the CC2022 and it works fine.

ParticipantGrep does not delete text except with find/replace. If you want to do everything with the paragraph style, you can create a “micro” (0.1pt) font style that hides the characters you are not interested in.

ParticipantWhat does this (?s) mean?

ParticipantYou could assign a paragraph style to all dates and, in the Grep Style, assign the font style with the desired colour only to the character *.

ParticipantI try to be as concise as possible.
1. You can have single pages using this script: DM_onefileonedatabasetosinglerecordPDF_v1_27
and then add the second page and merge everything into the Book.2. I don’t think, however, that this is a good idea but you could divide the Excel file by the alphabetical initials (A, B, C,…) and make a Datamerge for each one.
3. The best way to get another person to work on this project would be to use InCopy.
4. If you want to keep a link to the file you will use with Datamerge, you will have to use a special script or xml.
