ParticipantHello Mr. Michael,
Welcome to the world of Adobe InDesign. I’m working on layouts since 1996. To me InDesign is the best application to handle all the above listed requirements so far. Though the Tables are not so flexible as of Microsoft Word but still they provide a wide range of options to play with.
Have fun with it. Happy InDesigning…

ParticipantThanks Tanvir for your nice words, that’s more than a million euros :) I’m glad it worked for you.
Initially I was not sure whether this can be achieved. You need ideas to get you started and to keep you going.
Let me know if I could be of any help for FREE!

Participant…in addition, you can create an Object Style with TextWrap and other settings and apply it on the Newly created Text Frame.
PS: The script was created by Jongware in 2013 and it still works…

ParticipantHi Mayoor,
That’s quite a lot you have dreamed of. I think I have something similar with me. Please check if it somewhat works for you.
The below script Copy-Cut the selected Text/Table and creates a New TextFrame at the Cursor position with the copied content.
For TextWrap, check if someone can tweak this out.
Let me know if it helps…

ParticipantI noticed I have something more for you.
An AppleScript to copy GrepStyles to other InDesign Document. I know you might be thinking the same…

ParticipantHi John, I have a doubt here. To my knowledge these tags won’t effect the formatting since they are hidden. In your case I’ll suggest to check the font size of the last RETURN character, I’m sure that might be the hidden-culprit.
Secondly, try clicking on the Check Box for “Apply Leading to Entire Paragraphs” under the “Type” pane of the InDesign Preferences dialog box.
Hope it helps.

ParticipantYes David, that’s the standard. The Units, Tens and Hundreds go together. Then Thousand and Ten Thousands, then Lakh and Ten Lakhs, then Crore and Ten Crores and so on…

ParticipantI never realized that my Hightail account is still working. Thanks it helped…

ParticipantYes, I know that’s why I mentioned it in my reply above. Atleast the non-table can be formatted (I hope).
There are much talented persons on this forum, might be someone will come up with something. Till then use the above code.
Masood Ahmad
ParticipantFour GREPs not threee…
…and this might not work properly in Tables, check that as well.

ParticipantTanvir,
I tried couple of GREPS and came to a conclusion, that this cannot be achieved with one Code. Therefore, I clubbed all the three codes to create one JavaScript, you can download the same from here. I’m not sure, this will work for you however, I checked it with some dummy numbers and it worked at my end.

Further the three GREP codes, I have used are listed below:
Run these in the order given below
1) GREP Find/Change:
Find What:(\d),(\d)
Change to:$1$22) GREP Find/Change:
Find What:(\d\d\d)(?=\D)
Change to:,$03) GREP Find/Change:
Find What:\d(?=(\d\d)+\D)
Change to:$0,4) GREP Find/Change:
Find What:(\d),(\d\d)(?![\d,])
Change to:$1$2Please let me know if it works.
PS: As a precaution, please make a copy of your original document.
