I was have problems on my Mac in Indesign CS6 with the palettes in my workspace, I would click Pages and it would spring open then snap closed, if I kept clicking it would eventually stay open but then the same thing would happen when I clicked on Layers. At the same time fonts I had loaded in Suitcase Fusion were not appearing in my font list.
So I went to Extensis found a recommendation about removing fonts from 2 Libraries and clearing font caches this cleared my font issues and to my surprise my palettes started behaving, no more problems!

One more thing to try.
