MemberUpon further review, check your user dictionary (highlight text, right click, go to spelling,user dictionary, click on word, click on hyphenate, it will show where the word is hyphenated). The words in the English USA setting could be hyphenated incorrectly.
maggs
MemberHighlight some text where the hyphenation is wrong, then check the language at the top of the screen. If no language is shown, there is more than one language in that text. With the text still highlighted, change the language to English USA to see if you get the proper hyphenation (language works on a character basis). Hope this works for you.

MemberYou could try launching the InDesign application that is on your hard drive, then open one of your documents and see if your scripts work.

MemberCheck your language sertting.

MemberOverprint preview turns off guides, frame edges, and invisibles. I usually work with all these visible (I like to see everything that’s going on while I’m working on a project.) I turn on overprint preview as a final step.
maggs
MemberDo you have “overprint preview” turned on? If not, turn it on and see if image looks better.

MemberYou could try setting up a preflight profile with “all pages must be same size and orientation” checked. When you run preflight, it will indicate which pages have been changed and what sizes they are.

MemberTry this:
Find What:
(?<=\u\u)Change to:
(?<=) Positive Look-behind
\u Upper Case Character
TabThis should work (I’ve used it before)

MemberGo to preferences, interface, and then uncheck “auto-collapse icon panels”.

MemberAfter further review, we found out that it’s K4 plugin from Woodwing. It’s a full application that when installed creates a plugin for InDesign. I think it’s used to connect to other systems. Anyway, we’re not installing it because it makes changes to the operating system. Once again, thanks for your help.

MemberDid all of that. When I open the IDML file it tells me that there are mising plugins (just as the original file), but it opens fine. I get the error only when I try to package. Other files package fine. I think that these plugins were on the original user’s Mac and don’t realy affect the file (Inmath used to do the same thing). I ended up collecting fonts, inmages the old fashioned way. Thanks for your help.

MemberHi David,
I exported to IDML, hoping it would clear the problem when I opened it again. Got same error???

MemberThanks for the quick reply. Actually, we would only be partially renaming the links (only the ISBN at the end of the file name is changing. I may be wrong, but I thought Quark at one time had such an extension.

MemberFirst, Thanks to Jongware for the label script. One other thing I neglected to mention is that most of our images are anchored or inline. The script seems to have problems with these images. Is there any solution?
