MemberHi David,
I wasn't using InDesign – although if you think that would be the way to go I'm all ears.
I am currently using the TIFF files supplied by the Photographer. I've created a folder with all the images, and then sync the photos from 'Choose Folder' via iTunes.
Reason I'm doing it this way is purely for the easy operation by my client. They are not technology savvy and I though it the easiest way for them AND their clients to navigate.

MemberWell I do now know that the maximum size of an InDesign document is 5,486.4mm but that still doesn't answer my situation.
No takers for a crack at this one?

MemberThanks Eugene.
Just found out that they accept 1/2, 1/4 sizes and they simply scale it up from there. This just makes all aspects of my art work so much easier. Sometimes I wish I knew all the answers, but then again i'd be bored with that :-)

MemberG'day guys,
I'm not in book publishing, just paddling my way through work as a junior graphic designer. I thought i'd share my settings. I got them awhile back from a Michael Murphy podcast & well, they have always been fine. I have them as my default settings.
Word Spacing 85, 95, 105
Letter Spacing -3, -1, 2
Glyph Spacing 98, 100, 101
As far a type distortion goes, do you mean horizontal and vertical scaling? If yes, I was taught in college that it is not acceptable to distort any type, ever. If the Type Designer wanted it any differently it would have been created that way.

MemberG'day guys,
Bring on the iPad I say ;-)
As a professional musician I would love to know if I can trash my exhaustive collection of songs/lyrics and notation from a massive thick folder that I often have on stage with me and place them into that of a slim sexy iPad. Taking up next to no room, and being able to get access to my music at the swipe of a screen. Oh yeah this is the future.
Does anyone know if the iPad can be used to:
1. Read single/mulitple page pdf files that i've created via InDesign
2. Scan in rough hand written music notation/sketches to my mac, and then transfer that info as a pdf, so I can also add them to the iPad?
Any help would be really great. As they are not out in Australia just yet, I'm just after this info so I can place my order if this works.
