I believe I heard about that, I am still not a CS5 user. I think it was in CS4 but the default was off and in CS5 they turned it on, but from what i know its an option that can be turned off in the preference. You should take a look there.

I tried that but it did not work, in the end i got it to work but i had to embed all the images. I think the problem occurred after packaged the files and worked on a different computer, there most have been a problem with the different color setting I guess.

    Thanks for the help anyways!

I would say use InCopy, it will let them change and edit text and not let them to really play with the design. from what i know of InCopy's work flow InDesign you can control the typography and the layout in InDesign and limit there access to editing text, if thats what you want, this is the best thing I know of.

There is something called InDesign server for cs5 with sound like it could be used for multi-users editing one project but i have really read in to it yet, you might like to read about it and see if it may help you more.

Yes you will need all the frames to be assigned with the same object style, but unless you did that… your going to go in and change them all manually then you can adjust one of the document and synchronize it with the rest.

    Good luck with it

Your welcome, some times formats are corrupt and wont work with other programs the simplest thing to do is just to recreate.

It could be a problem with the internal format, did you try opening it in sound booth and re-saving the file?

    Please check the following

In the book panel there is a fly-down menu in the top-right click it then select the “Book page numbering options” and make sure the page order is “Continue from previous document”

    This should solve your problem.

Sorry to take so long, to reply i tried it before i posted it the first time.

[backslash]d is a single digit wild card example “5″

[backslash]d+ is any number of digit wild card example “2589″

    / is /

so it should work i used it it use to find the fractions

    [backslash]d+/[backslash]d+ should return all fractions

i use indesign cs 3 i dont know if they changed the GREP in the new versions

i just relize it did not have any [backslash] in the original post!

Jongware how do you include backslash

From what I recall i did see it in Lynda.com tutorials but they use the character styles to fix this problem. To make this a much fast you should use the find and replace GREP tool to apply the style to the need parts of the text.

For Example to a find all fractions:

    d+/d+

Will find the fractions then at the bottom change the style.

    Hope this is useful

I think the best way is to play with leading between the lines. some times a .3 to .6 lower leading value over the whole page of text makes a big difference and does not really show up. Try it, but just do know if the text is align to baseline grid this will not work unless you change the value of the baseline grid. (THIS WOULD CHANGE IT ON EVERY PAGE! IF YOU DECIDE TO IT SHOULD BE APPLIED TO THE TEXT BOX ONLY!)

    I hope this helps.

Personal i would try making a 3 page master (original, copy, accounting copy… materes on the format you are planning) with no facing page. each one with a numbered list for each one of the pages (like Furry said). This way it will save you the time of a plying master pages. then make each spread 3 pages. This is still a long way but it would save more time, since it would have less mistakes in it, due to applying the wrong master page once you start falling a sleep at the boring repetitive work.

Tell me if this helps any??
